Well, came back from the doc last week and turns out I’m not in perfect shape. Near high blood pressure and some liver issues. Well now I’ve put a self imposed alcohol ban and strict fruit/veg diet regime (and increased exercise) for the next 2 months and see what happens when I visit the doctor again.
Asides from that, been watching Dexter - great show. I know someone who has problems with their empathy - according to their doctor anyway. And that person could kill easily. Also been playing Witcher 2. Awesome.
So you can see I’m still a bum.
The gf’s parents come in less then 5 days. What fun…
Well not much happening in my life. Been playing video games to pass the time (legend of zelda: Skyward Sword and Witcher 2 specifically), been gyming, been having weird heart quickness thingies, had my birthday though nothing happened this time as I don’t have enough friends in Australia at the moment or some are fighting (specifically over design rights over a book), and I had to visit dad thinking that I wouldn’t have to again for this holiday - only to find out that he does want me to visit him again on christmas eve. Bummer. Mum pretty much lied to me.
Last friday I went to the Supreme Court of NSW and got admitted as a lawyer. Pretty unusual ceremony to be honest. You go in, wait for a bit. The Justices come and then you have a mover who says “i bring X to be admitted as a solicitor of this honourable court”. And then the Chief Justice says “I allow X to be admitted into the court”. And says that for each and every person. Then we have to walk in front of the bench and say “I do” or “so help me god” after the Chief Justice makes a speech about upholding the values of the court. Then we sat through and listened to the Justice talk about thirsting for knowledge. Then we left and got our practicing certificates. Fantastic wham bam thank you ma’am heh. There were at least 100 people getting admitted and we were just ‘D,E, and F surname category’. So there’s a shit load of people getting admitted as solicitors per month.
You notice how arbitrary the procedure is when they have to go through each individual and allow them to become a solicitor. The registrar screwed up my name and pronounced my name with an ‘e’ when it has a bloody ‘a’ in it - almost everyone in this country does it. Geez. The repetitiveness of it was quite amusing and i almost laughed out loud. Finally the Justices looked like they were dressed for the festive season. Santa claus anyone?
Yesterday went to Wollongong to pick up some stuff for a mate who’s in Columbia at the moment. Man the weather was miserable - cold and windy at the beach.
Drive’s main theme song. Pretty fucking awesome. Listen to the whole thing and don’t judge it by its beginning.
Today was pretty eventful you could say heh.
Got Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword in the mail. It wasn’t working properly as the wii plus thing was fucking up. then…
Me and the gf went up to watch Drive in Liverpool. It’s just this crazy weird movie. You’d think it’s a movie like gone in 60 seconds or the fast and the furious but it’s not. Well, maybe the first 10 minutes is an action film. But the most of this film is this noir, meditative, realistic and ‘trancy’ type film. The realistic scenes are damn gory and like any modern noir film, it ends quite open endedly. I had mixed feelings immediately leaving the cinema but as I think about it, I like it more and more. Ryan Gosling is a fucking good actor.
We also got a pre-owned wiimote thing at a game shop and when I tested it out later it worked perfect.
Then we went to Cabramatta (however you spell it) and got lunch which the gf hated. She ordered so much stuff which I had to eat in the end. Then we went shopping and I was able to acquire some Dr Pepper (oh yeah). Then we got some pirate asian films with english sub titles and I also got this japanese porn which i forgot to get english subtitles for. Oh well. Sex doesn’t need translation.
Playing zelda at home is great fun. People keep telling me the motion controls are hard to get used to. I think they seem to work fine. And loving the sword play. It is a more tiring experience though but it’s worth it..
Made the gf upset too because I was in bed on the laptop drinking a cidar that she had just given me, then she bounces on the bed and the damn thing spills over my singlet. I was like ‘What the fuck? Just take it and drink the damn thing’. She was sulking the rest of the night heh.
